As some of you may have read, a few days a go I blogged that I will write a blog once per day, no matter how big or small. Well, if you follow this blog you will see that I have failed already!
After making such a grand announcement I then went for a few days to Berlin where I had no internet access whatsoever, since returning, my home internet has also been playing up. So, I am making the best of a bad situation and blogging when I can.
Nevertheless, I will continue to seek to blog once a day, even if it does not happen, no matter how big or small the blog is. I just want to keep challenging myself and throwing around ideas!
People either love or hate Simon Cowell for the TV shows that he has produced, but, love him or hate him, he is one incredible entrepreneur. Simon Cowell does not simply think of the next big hit TV show but he has developed his craft in shaping and forming entertainment format’s with the intention of launching multi-million pound brands which inevitably gain large scale media profile and generate significant audience ratings.
Yesterday Simon Cowell launched his latest TV offering, ‘Red or Black’ which will see 7 contestants battle it out to win £1million all on the spin of a roulette wheel with a ‘Red or Black’ decision. In order to gain the chance to win £1million the audience will be required to predict the right out come on a series of crazy stunts and random events – from whether the next baby to be born on a maternity ward will be a boy or girl, to whether a stuntman jumping from a plane will grab a red or black parachute on his way down.
‘Red or Black’ was launched to the press yesterday and, you can read about it here: Red or Black press launch.
I am certainly eager to see how Simon Cowell, an entrepreneur who inspires me significantly, manages to pull his next success out of the bag. What are you thoughts on ‘Red or Black’. Let me know?
I love reading all about entrepreneurs who have had a vision, a dream, and have relentlessly pursued it with everything that they have. I have recently come across one such business One Fine Stay.
One Fine Stay is a website that enables users to book into someone’s house whilst the owner of the property is out of town. The owners of this business, Greg Marsh and Demetrios Zoppos have labelled this the ‘unhotel’ with the belief that people would prefer to stay in hotel-like surroundings but in the ‘homely’ house environment.
This is a fantastic little idea but it does not come cheap at houses in the heart of London being anything up to £299 per night, albeit these are pretty nice properties and locations. This site is certainly getting some great press attention and some awesome customer reviews.
The only downside, in my mind is that, sometimes, it is nice to just book into a hotel, have that hotel feel and have people around you pampering you, food to order (and even to your room) and all the facilities that go with it. Nevertheless, when you check out this site you will see some of the beautiful homes listed on the site, many of which will make you feel like a millionaire, if only for one night!
Check out: One Fine Stay and let me know what you think!
I have heard about this guy, Greg Hartle, from a guy who I admire and learn a lot of stuff from, Scott Barlow. If your addicted to being inspired then you should read up on both of these people. Nevertheless, back to Greg.
As Greg explains on his website, ten dollars and a laptop, Greg had everything. At the age of 22 Greg was worth $1million. Greg was as passionate about fitness, as he was about fitness and pushes both to the limits. Nevertheless he developed a rare lung disease which resulted in his Mum donating a livers to him and subsequently he financially lost everything to cover medical bills during this period.
Greg now has little finances at all but he has dedicated himself to travelling the USA to gather together 501 entrepreneurs who are changing the economy, entrepreneurs who working towards, what Greg calls, a ‘new economy’.
I have just started reading through ten dollars and a laptop and I am finding it incredibly inspiring. I love the fact that there are people out there who are facing challenges in order to chase the dream that they have inside them and Greg is certainly doing that.
If you are looking to be inspired check out Ten Dollars and a laptop.
I hate it when I don’t get the time, space or inspiration to blog, and recently, this has become more frequent. Each day I read blogs, websites and articles that spark a thought process that leads to some crazy ideas that form in my head. I share these ideas with friends and people around me and some interesting conversations take place and so, today, I made a decision to write a blog every single day. My theory is that the more people who comment, email or engage with these discussions then the greater foundation on which to form opinions or ideas.
So, that is todays decision. From now on I am going to write one blog per day. The blogs that I write can be about anything – a quote, an article, a thought, it does not matter. Plus, if I skip a day for any random reason, then, this is okay, no big deal.
Please feel free to comment, email, send me a message on Facebook or tweet me, regarding anything that I blog about. Let the interesting discussion begin!
