Mark has a unique philosophy about life which centres around the fact that ‘we live life, once’. This is not simply a mantra to be spoken but a way of life that affects everything that Mark does – from the projects that he launches to the way that he chooses to live his life, every single day. It is this attitude towards life that brings Mark the most incredibly opportunities and a real passion for living that drives him to get up in the morning just to see what will happen next!
Mark’s, ‘we life life, once’ philosophy underpins his mind set which results in an increase in opportunities.
The ‘we live life, once’ mind set: After Mark’s divorce he became committed to understanding who and what he was as a person, as an individual who has this unique opportunity to live on planet Earth. With that understanding Mark took a deep look at himself, what he liked, what he did not like and what he had become, as a product of the people, events and institutions around him. During this process Mark began to see aspects of his life and character that he was proud and aspects that he was not.
As Mark developed his ‘we life life, once’ mindset he realised that in order for him to live the positive, exciting, passionate and abundant life that he wanted to live he had to have a deep respect for himself and begin a life long journey of making necessary changes. With a newly found respect for himself, no longer did the world seem against Mark, but he began to see the world as this big exciting playground for him to learn, to grow, to develop and within which to create new things. Life, as opposed to becoming a drag, suddenly became one big adventure.
The opportunities: ‘live life, once’ is not simply about acquiring the biggest bank balance before it is all over, but it is about what you can do,what you can create and how you can positively impact the world around you. Needless to say, as Mark developed such an attitude, the opportunities came flooding in! The biggest obstacle that Mark has had to learn, with this philosophy, is patience. This philosophy does not mean that we should live like it will all end tomorrow and Mark continues to walk the fine line.
Mark Bowness has stated, “We live life, once – with this attitude I am excited to get out of bed every morning, I am excited to be alive and I want to infect people as far and wide to live life with such a philosophy. It is very easy to be weighed down with our weaknesses, our frailties and our situations but as we look at our lives with a ‘live life, once’ mentality then we realise that we exist for a purpose, we just simply have to discover it. I am addicted to encouraging others to experience what life is like when we do not take living for granted, it has become my mission!”
