T-Mobile – life is for sharing…
Tech tipsComputer Tricks

This T-mobile viral video has been doing the rounds, notching up over 350,000 views on youtube over the past 3 days (uploaded 29th October ’10). This T-Mobile video is simple and effective, set in an airport, singers and musicians (without any instruments) sing and ‘play’ to passengers who are returning home, turning the whole arrivals lounge into a gig. Obviously, I have no whether the people arriving home were actors, however, it does not matter.

Social media is all about capturing the moment, that results in a video, a picture, a blog or an article being sent around the web – quick speed and T-mobile have tapped into this very well. This is an excellent production that taps into the heart of the human emotion of ‘missing a loved one’ and the surprises on these people’s faces are incredible. It is certainly not easy to simply create a viral video – it takes significant strategic planning and delivery and then, you have to make sure it is released on a slow news day.

However, if you get it right, you get it right which, in this case, results in t-mobile’s being viewed as a brand that brings people together. One facebook user commented, ‘if this is what my t-mobile bills are going towards then I don’t mind!’ – exactly the kind of attitude you want to see.

Good work t-mobile!
